Struck in highly pure 90% fine silver, these coins were designed by Charles Barber, then-Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. Other designs had been submitted — more than 300, in fact — but Barber, as part of a panel of judges, rejected them all in favor of designing the coin himself. The coin features a bust of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap on the obverse, with an agricultural wreath and the words “ONE DIME” on the reverse.

• CLASSIC COIN DESIGN – The Barber Dime was struck from 1892 to 1916. The classic design was the work of Charles Barber, the U.S. Mint’s 6th Chief Engraver. It features Lady Liberty with her hair tucked up under her cap on the obverse while the reverse shows a wreath and the ONE DIME denomination.
• STRUCK IN GLEAMING SILVER – Barber Dimes were struck in 2.5 grams of highly pure 90% fine silver and measure 17.9 mm in diameter.
