Russia has maintained a military presence in Syria since the 1970s, but Russian President Vladimir Putin poured his troops and military equipment into the country to prop up Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government in 2015, turning the tide in Syria's civil war. Russia still keeps a sizable presence in Syria.

Russia and Israel communicate to avoid conflict between their militaries in Syria, and Israel wants to avoid Russia cutting off the emigration of Russian Jews to Israel, as it has effectively threatened to do.

To protect its strategic relationship with Moscow, Israel has stayed mostly on the sidelines of Russia's Ukraine war, giving Ukraine some humanitarian aid but refusing its pleas for sophisticated air defense systems and other military equipment. Israel has also "refrained from enforcing strict economic sanctions on Russia and the many Russian-Jewish oligarchs who have second homes in Israel," The Associated Press adds.

Russia's purchase of Iranian missiles and suicide drones touches a special nerve in Israel. "We're looking at it closely and thinking about how these can be used by the Iranians toward Israeli population centers," Israeli military spokesman Lt. Col. Richard Hecht tells AP. Some lawmakers in Tel Aviv are now advocating for arming Ukraine, but Israel's government has so far declined to take that step.

Israel regularly strikes targets in Syria to prevent Tehran from cementing a foothold close to Israel's northeastern border.

Many have questioned why Russia became involved in the Syrian war but often overlook the fight over natural gas.

As Harvard Professor Mitchell A Orenstein and George Romer wrote in Foreign Affairs, Russia currently supplies Europe with a quarter of the gas it uses for heating, cooking, fuel and other activities.

In fact 80 per cent of the gas that Russian state-controlled company Gazprom produces is sold to Europe, so maintaining this crucial market is very important.

Russia built the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to deliver gas to Europe. Donald Trump and his ambassador in Germany, Richard Grenell, in January 2019 went so far as to send threatening letters to German companies involved in the pipeline. READ MORE: Trump Imposes Sanctions To Stop Nord Stream 2 – But It’s Too late (Forbes)

A Developing Alliance

Until recently, the nations of Russia and Iran had never formed an alliance of any sort. Economic and military cooperation between Iran and Russia had never taken place. But around 1989, this started to change.

Today, Iran and Russia are strong allies. In 1995, the Russian Ministry for Atomic Energy signed an agreement with Iran to finish the Bushehr nuclear power plant. Construction on the plant came to an immediate halt after the 1979 Islamic revolution. But today, thanks to Russia, work is once again in progress.

The ongoing civil war in Syria is another area of cooperation between the two countries. Russia has a vested interest in retaining access to the Syrian naval base in Tartus and stopping the spread of ISIS.

As a longtime ally of Syrian President Bashar Assad, Iran also has military forces in Syria.

Iran is also the primary sponsor of Hezbollah. Hezbollah has openly operated in Syria under Assad.

So Russia and Iran share a common interest when it comes to keeping Assad in power.

Because of their common interests, it's easy to see why this alliance will eventually attack Israel.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin is determined to restore the former glory of the Soviet Union. But NATO blocks his expansion to the west, and China blocks his expansion to the east. However, Putin could move south and take all the oil wealth of the Middle East. Only one thing stops him - Israel.

It's clear why Russia wants to eliminate Israel. What about the other nations? It's easy to see why they'll join an invasion force. Religious ideology alone is reason enough. READ MORE: Will an Emerging Russia-Turkey-Iran Alliance Reshape the Middle East?

Putin Launches 'New Evil Empire' with North Korea and Hamas

By Anna Nemtsova, DailyBeast

A former deputy prime minister of Israel has told The Daily Beast that the world should see the Hamas terror attack on Israel, which killed at least 1400 people, as part of a larger conflict being stoked by the Kremlin.

Putin—the real Hamas ally—has defined the lines of the big confrontation: Hamas, Iran, Russia, China on one side, and Israel, Ukraine and the United States on the other,” said Natan Sharansky.

Sharansky, who was a jailed dissident during the Soviet era before emigrating and moving into Israeli politics, said President Vladimir Putin was honing a “new evil empire” to take on the West.

Kremlinologists in Ukraine, Israel, and Russia told The Daily Beast about an increasingly dangerous global game being played by Putin as he tries to draw eyes away from his war on Ukraine.

The Invading Nations...

“The sophistication and the complexity of the attack seems beyond what Hamas could do on its own,” a former senior U.S. intelligence official said.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Iranian security officials helped Hamas plan the surprise attack and approved it at a meeting in Beirut, according to senior members of Hamas and Hezbollah. The Journal reported that officers in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had worked with Hamas since August to devise the sophisticated air, land and sea assault.

Ezekiel chapters 38-39 describes an invasion of Israel. This attack is a massive coalition of nations intent on destroying Israel. The countries involved are: Russia, Iran, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Ethiopia, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Sudan and Libya.

It's been centuries since Ezekiel first recorded these prophecies. Yet, this alliance has never existed.

And it certainly hasn't invaded Israel. But today? Today, we see this alliance coming together.

Guided missiles and artillery shells from Lebanon pounded targets in Israel as war in the Middle East threatened to spin out of control.

The militant group Hezbollah—which is also a powerful political party in Lebanon—claimed responsibility for the attacks on a disputed territory in the north of Israel hours after President Biden had warned them not to get involved.

Fighting continued in eight pockets in the south of the country where the Israeli security forces were struggling to end the worst incursion into the country in 50 years. More than 600 people are dead on both sides with thousands more injured after an invasion launched by fighters from Hamas and Islamic Jihad who blew up border fences and poured into Israel on Saturday on motorbikes, boats and motorized paragliders after launching thousands of rocket and drone attacks.

The Israel Defense Force (IDF) responded to the Hezbollah attacks with armed drone strikes that hit targets in another disputed region near the borders of Israel, Lebanon and Syria.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran say Israel has Only Itself to Blame for Hamas Attacks

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is closely following the developments of the unprecedented situation between a number of Palestinian factions and the Israeli occupation forces, which has resulted in a high level of violence on several fronts there,” the country’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“The Kingdom recalls its repeated warnings of the dangers of the explosion of the situation as a result of the continued occupation, and deprivation of the Palestinian people of their legitimate rights, and the repetition of systematic provocations against its sanctities,” the statement continues.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the effective ruler of the kingdom, seems to be sidling closer to Russia, at least from the perspective of the Biden administration, which is furious that the Saudis teamed up with Russia to cut oil production and raise fuel prices ahead of winter cold and Western elections.

The leadership in Riyadh has been sending many signals to Washington that the Kingdom will pursue its own national interests as perceived by Saudi officials, which includes deepening cooperation with Beijing and Moscow.

China is now the biggest buyer of Saudi oil, followed by India.

Erdogan threatens to declare war on Israel and send military to Gaza in chilling warning

By Liam Doyle, Express

Turkey's president appears to have threatened to intervene in Gaza in an impassioned speech at a pro-Palestine rally this evening.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered a speech to a rally this afternoon in which he told attendees Israel was responsible for war crimes, and framed Hamas as "freedom fighters".

In comments that have prompted Israeli outcry, and led the country to withdraw its diplomatic presence, president Erdogan suggested assaults on Gaza constituted a "massacre".

In the same speech, he reportedly said that Turkey can "come at any night unexpectedly” to ecstatic reception from hundreds of thousands of attendees.

The footage, which is currently circulating on X, formerly known as Twitter, purportedly showed the pro-Palestine crowd responding with the chant: “Turkish military to Gaza.”

Footage circulating online was posted by news aggregating account Visegrád 24, and showed Mr Erdogan speaking at the event in Turkish.

Thousands of people are seen waving a combination of Turkish and Palestinian flags from the venue in Istanbul, where he was speaking to people attending the Great Palestine meeting.

Iran Vows Revenge Over Killing of Guard member in Tehran

Iran’s hard-line president vowed revenge over the killing of a senior Revolutionary Guard member gunned down in the heart of Tehran, a still-mysterious attack on the country’s powerful paramilitary force.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi hailed Col. Hassan Sayyad Khodaei as a martyr and blamed “the hand of global arrogance,” a reference to the United States and its allies, including Israel, for his slaying.

The brazen attack bore the hallmarks of previous slayings in Iran that Israel claimed responsibility for, such as those targeting the country’s nuclear scientists.

While Iran has yet to offer any definitive biographic information on Khodaei, Israeli media ran simultaneous stories alleging Khodaei had organized plots against Israeli diplomats, businesspeople and other foreign officials abroad.

The news reports, all of which ran without attribution, suggest Israeli intelligence officials briefed journalists on the Iranian colonel. There was no official comment from the Israeli government.

Iran has accused Israel of carrying out similar motorbike slayings targeting Iranian nuclear scientists a decade ago. In the last year, Iran blamed Israel for a particularly high-tech killing that targeted Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the country’s chief nuclear scientist that masterminded the Islamic Republic’s disbanded military nuclear program. A remote-controlled machine gun killed him on a country road.

Express: Israel’s top military chief has said the army is preparing to combat the threat posed by Iran and has ordered US President Joe Biden not to return to the Iran nuclear deal - even if the accord is strengthened. Lieutenant General Aviv Kohavi has said it would be “bad and wrong” for the US to sign back up to the international treaty and warned the Israeli army has been instructed to “prepare a number of operational plans”.

Speaking at Tel Aviv University’s Institute for National Security Studies, Lieutenant General Kohavi said: “A return to the 2015 nuclear agreement, or even if it is a similar accord with several improvements, is bad and wrong from an operational and strategic point of view.”

He said the military has been placed on standby for any developments.

Trita Parsi, an analyst from the Washington based Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, said there was a real prospect of Israel going to war.

Plan to Attack Israel

Iran’s army ground forces commander Kiumars Heydari announced that the Iranian military is ready to attack some of the major cities in Israel should tensions escalate.

“Upon an order of the Supreme Leader of the [Islamic] Revolution, we will raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground for any mistake made by the enemy (Israel),” he said.

GlobalVillage: Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah warned Tel Aviv that the Shia militia will be on high alert for the upcoming Israeli military exercises near Lebanon.

“In the event of the continuation of the Israeli aggression against the Iranian presence in the region,” Iran may “attack Israel directly,” Nasrallah said during a video address at an event in Beirut. This was a reference to the frequent Israeli missile strikes on what the government in Tel Aviv says are Iranian targets inside Syria.

NationalInterest: Israel has many vulnerabilities to domino-style attacks, according to the report.

The plan includes a series of attacks, inside Israel.

There have recently been several shooting attacks on army checkpoints in the Jenin region.

Israel is about one thousand miles from Iran, a range which is just at the outer limits of the striking distance of most long-range ballistic missiles.

Several targeted strikes could bring down Israel.

JPost: Iranian-linked paramilitaries are entrenched in a corridor of influence stretching from Beirut to Baghdad. This has been called Iran’s “land bridge.”

Israel has launched more than 1,000 airstrikes on Iranian targets in Syria in recent years, according to former chief of staff Gadi Eizenkot.

The worst genocide of the Jewish people is about to take place. It is known as “the time of Jacob’s trouble” (Jer. 30:7), or the Tribulation.

According to several sources in Israel, the Israeli Defense Minister, Benny Gantz, is publicly telling citizens on PUBLIC TELEVISION that they need to prepare for war with Iran. A public warning like this has never been given in the history of modern Israel.

So, not surprisingly, the Israeli Air Force is being seen in the skies over Israel and the Mediterranean, presumably practicing bombing runs for Iran.

All this volatility is raising the spectre of "nuclear war", former Defense Intelligence Agency officer Matt Shoemaker has warned.

He explained: "The threat of nuclear war currently remains unlikely but has become a plausible threat in this crisis.

"Not only because of Iran’s nuclear weapons program but because Israel is a nuclear power."

As Mr Shoemaker points out, Iran’s foreign minister has ominously warned Israel will suffer “a huge earthquake" if it invades Gaza.

"Iran would not remain an observer in the conflict," the DIA expert predicted, adding: "As a former intelligence officer, and based on news reports I’ve seen over the past year, some estimate that if Iran initiated a nuclear weapons 'crash course', it could develop a working bomb within six weeks."

He added: "That’s an extraordinarily short amount of time and gives the West a small window if Iran chooses to do that."

Iran's nuclear capabilities have been a source of grave concern in Washington ever since then-President Donald Trump pulled the US out of the 2015 nuclear deal in 2018, restoring crippling sanctions on the autocratic country.

Iran began breaking the terms a year later, including by enriching uranium to higher levels.

In Mr Shoemaker's estimation, the Israel-Hamas conflict may just tip Iran over the edge.

However, the threat of nuclear war is not just coming from Iran, he warns.

"Not far off in Tartus, Syria, Russia has a well-established naval presence and has the largest nuclear stockpile in the world," he said.

Mr Shoemaker makes the point that Russia has backed pro-Palestinian and Iranian causes.

"To make matters even more complicated, China, another nuclear power, has extensive economic and financial interests in the region," he added.

"Fifty percent of China’s oil and gas comes from the Middle East so if this became a regional war, China would certainly have an incentive to get involved to protect its energy resources."

Iran Warns Israel it will 'intervene' if Gaza Invaded

By Jason Lemon, Newsweek

Iran said it will intervene if the Israeli operation in Gaza continues, two diplomatic sources told the Axios news agency.

The threat, which was made in a message to Israel through the UN, raises the prospect of a regional war and follows earlier warnings from Iran’s foreign minister.

Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the Lebanese militant group had scenarios “designed” and “prepared” if Israel does not stop its attacks on Gaza and that “their finger is on the trigger to shoot.”

1400 hundred yeas ago the prophet Ezekiel prophesied Israel’s return to their homeland (Ezek. 37), and now they’re home after gaining their last piece of critical real estate, Mt. Moriah and the Temple Mount, in 1967.

In the following two chapters, Ezekiel 38 and 39, the prophet prophesies that Israel will later be invaded by a coalition of countries...specifically mentioning Iran (Persia) as one of the invading nations, along with Gog, which is presumably Russia.

So it's important to pay attention to what's going on in Israel to see where we are on God's clock.

CrossWalk: The bald eagle has been a symbol for the United States of America since 1782 when it was chosen as the national bird and placed with outspread wings on the seal of our country. The design went on to appear on official documents, currency, flags, public buildings, and other government and patriotic items, becoming an American icon.

By the way, Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national symbol of the United States. He thought that the turkey was a strong and noble bird. Fortunately, he was outvoted!

I understand that you’re wondering if the eagle that rescues  Israel during the Great Tribulation is the United States. Let’s start with Revelation 12:14, which declares,

The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach.

Who Are the Major Players in Revelations 12?

Prior to Revelation 12, John identifies the woman, the man child, and the dragon.

1. The Woman giving birth to the Man Child is Israel.

In Revelation 12:1, John describes the woman as having a “crown of twelve stars on her head.” These are the twelve tribes of Israel.

2. The Man Child is Jesus.

The woman gives birth to the man child, who will “rule all nations” (Revelation 12:5). This is the Son of God, Savior, Jesus Christ.

3. The Dragon is Satan.

John describes the great dragon as “that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the world astray” (Revelation 12:9).

What Happens When the Eagle Appears?

Revelation 12 begins when the woman, Israel, is in childbirth agony. She is about to give birth to Jesus, the man-child who will “rule all nations with a rod of iron.”

The Dragon, Satan, is crouching between her legs, ready to grab and devour the child as soon as it emerges from the womb. This is yet another attempt by Satan to kill Jesus and upset the plan of salvation. But the Eagle with two wings transports Israel to a special place where she can remain safely protected during the last half of the Great Tribulation.

As I mentioned previously, it is commonly agreed that the Eagle is a symbol for the United States.

When Will This Happen?

So when will this invasion take place? The Bible says it will come "in the latter days" (Ezekiel 38:8).

The original Hebrew word in this verse is "acharith" which means "after-part, latter part, last, close, or end." In other words, this alliance will form in the last days just prior to the return of Jesus Christ. Ezekiel uses this same word "acharith" eight verses later, when he says the invasion will come "in the last days" (Ezekiel 38:16).

So it should come as no surprise to see Russia, Iran, Turkey, and the other nations Ezekiel noted gathered on Israel's northern border, engaged in war and preparing for war.

According to the Bible, it's only a matter of time before they attack Israel (Ezekiel 38:8-9).

The result of the battle in Psalms is devastation. Not only of the invaders but also of Israel. Israel will win, but it will be severely crippled. The actions described in Psalm 83 will be the catalyst that brings Israel, the Antichrist, and the nations of the world to the negotiating table.

The Antichrist will sign a treaty with the state of Israel for a period of seven years.

God refers to this agreement as a "covenant with Sheol" (or hell), and God's assessment will prove true when the Antichrist breaks this covenant after three and a half years. READ MORE: Who is the Anti-Christ?

Ezekiel 38:13 refers to the “young lions.” This is a Biblical mention of the United States. The young lions, along with others, try to stop the attack with negotiations but are unsuccessful.

During the invasion, there is a worldwide earthquake. While the mountains are crumbling around them, confusion and fear cause the armies to turn upon themselves (Ezekiel 38:20-21). God also sends giant hailstones mingled with fire and brimstone from the sky referring to a nuclear war (Ezekiel 38:22).

The US and Israel are planning a nuclear war with Russia, China, North Korea and Iran. READ MORE: Air Force general predicts war with China in 2025

Again, we know these prophecies concern future events because they have not been fulfilled literally in the past and because they are clearly declared to be prophecies by God Himself: “It is coming! It will surely take place, declares the sovereign Lord. This is the day I have spoken of” (Ezekiel 39:7-8).

And now, the last remaining arms treaty between the world’s two largest nuclear powers has collapsed and there will be no limits on U.S. and Russian nuclear forces for the first time since the 1970s. The risks of a nuclear launch – intentional or otherwise – will rise.

“A world without nuclear arms control is a far more dangerous and unstable one,” said U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

Without arms control, the U.S. and Russian nuclear arsenals could double in size, according to the Federation of American Scientists. Each nation could dramatically and quickly increase the number of nuclear weapons ready to launch on short notice, said Hans M. Kristensen, director of the federation’s Nuclear Information Project.

“Such an increase would be extraordinarily destabilizing and dangerous, especially with a full-scale war raging in Europe and Russia buckling under the strain of unprecedented sanctions,” Kristensen wrote last year.

Top Biden administration officials warned this week they have intelligence suggesting China is considering providing lethal support to Russia.

Tensions have been rising with China, which the U.S. considers its biggest strategic and economic competitor. Even before the Biden administration shot down a Chinese spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina this month, the nations have clashed over Taiwan, technology, human rights, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and other issues.

Pelosi recently visited Taiwan trying to provoke an attack by China, America is also trying to provoke North Korea to attack South Korea by running continuous live military drills on their borders. America is also trying to provoke Iran to attack Israel by targeted assassinations. READ MORE: Malaysia’s Mahathir says US seeking to provoke war in Taiwan (AP News)

The end times will arrive with suddenness whether you are prepared or not. “That they all might be judged who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thess. 2:10-12

“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all” (Luke 17:26-27).

In 2018, under the supervision of Secretary of Defense James Mattis, the US declared in its national security strategy that “Great power competition—not terrorism—is now the primary focus of US national security.”

The document codified what had in fact for years been the dominant concept in Pentagon planning: that the US military should focus on preparations to fight a war with Russia and China. To this end, the Obama administration had already initiated a more than one trillion-dollar expansion of the US nuclear arsenal, a plan continued and intensified under Trump and now Biden.

Clearly, what is being prepared is a level of mass killing far beyond the bloodbaths carried out in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Yemen and elsewhere.

Do yourself a favor. Think for yourself. Be your own person. Question everything. Stand for principle. Champion individual liberty and self-ownership where you can. Develop a strong moral code. Be kind to others. Do no harm, unless that harm is warranted. Pretty obvious stuff...but people who hold these things in their hearts seem to be disappearing from the earth at an accelerated rate. Stay safe, my friends. Thanks for being here.
